Nicolas Cage Biography

Nicolas Cage was Born in Long Beach, California on January 7, 1964. His birth name was Nicholas Kim Coppola, born to his father August Floy Coppola and mother Joy Vogelsang. His father worked in Literature mainly studying blind people. His mother was a dancer and choreographer who battled depression most of her life. the name Coppola rooted from his fathers Italian American heritage. Cage attended high school at Beverly Hills High School where acted in his schools theater production of Golden Boy.

When he began his acting career he changed his last name from Coppola to Cage to distinguish himself from his Uncle Francis Ford Coppola. His first major film was Fast Times at Ridgemont High. They were divorced in 2001. He won his first academy award for playing nothing-to-lose alcoholic in Leaving Las Vegas. He won another for playing the role of Charlie Kaufman in Adaptation. He has found his most box-office success in action films. He scored big starring National Treasure, The Rock, World Trade Center and Face/Off. Some films which did not do so well at the Box Office but Cage got good reviews include Lord of War, The Weather Man and The Wicker Man.

In his personal life, Cage has bee married three times. He was married to Patricia Arquette in 1995. She made a game for him to play in which he was too things to win her hand. One of them was attaining an J.

D. Salingers autograph. Cages second marriage was to Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of musician Elvis Presley. They divorced after four months of marriage. His third and current wife is Alice Kim whom he had a son named Kal-El.

He tells people his favorite is film is Stanley Kubricks A Clockwork Orange. He also told Jay Leno that he is interested in 16th century German mysticism. He collects fossils and once paid $60, 000 for 12 trilobites fossils.
